Japan wins 2 out of 5 in Dutch Open

ダッチオープンGP、決勝に進んだ日本選手のうち、男子シングルスの佐々木翔選手と男子ダブルスの平田典靖・橋本博且組が優勝した。一方、女子ダブルスの藤井瑞希・垣岩令佳組、混合ダブルスの池田信太郎・潮田玲子組はいずれもロシアのペアに敗れ勝利を逃した

女子シングルスは地元オランダのヤオ・ジエ選手(第1シード)を抑え、ドイツのジュリアン・シェンク選手(第2シード)が制した

Dutch Open GP Finals, Japanese dominated the men’s events. Winner of Singles is Sho SASAKI. No.5 seeded Samurai defeated Ajay JAYARAM of India straight games (21-16,21-19) in the final

5-year ago, Sho ended up second runner-up in this tournament

Men’s Doubles title went to Noriyasu HIRATA/Hirokatsu HASHIMOTO. Through this tournament, No.1 seeded pair performed quite steady and did not lose even a single game

On the other hand, Women’s Doubles and Mix Doubles titles slipped away from Japanese hands

No.1 seeded Mizuki FUJII/Reika KAKIIWA in Women’s Doubles and No.3 seeded Shintaro IKEDA/Reiko SHIOTA in Mix Doubles lost to Russian pairs by the score of  (19-21,19-21), (20-22,9-21)  respectively

In Women’s Singles, local star and No.1 seeded Jie YAO was beaten by No.2 seeded Juliane SCHENK of Germany in the rubber game (13-21,21-14,15-21)
